Verna of Cumiana - 2020

Writer's picture: Davide DimacDavide Dimac

Cycling tour from Grugliasco to Borgata Verna. Very dry and cool day since the morning. Totally autumnal weather. Many cyclists on the roads, probably because yesterday there was very strong wind and it was impossible to go out for a ride.

From Cumiana the climb is very inconstant, alternating sections with significant slope and parts where the ascent is smoother. The most complicated segment for the slope is between Borgata Picchi and Borgata Ravera.

The main advantage is that the climb is almost all in the woods, in shade of the trees, so you do not suffer the heat.

At Borgata Verna's chapel (top of the tour), there's place to sit and rest, but no fountain. For water, you can find a fountain 100m further on near the cemetery.

Total Length = 68.1 Km

Maximum Altitude = 900 m

Temperature (°C) = 13.9 - 17.0

Felt Temperature (°C) = 14.0 - 18.0
