Torino-Savona (by Piossasco) - 2020

Writer's picture: Davide DimacDavide Dimac

Cycling tour from Grugliasco to Noli, passing through the Langhe and arriving on the Riviera di Ponente (Liguria). The weather forecast indicated a very hot day from early morning, and so it was.

The high temperature caused to drink water quite often, in order to re-hydrate while cycling. Quick stop in Marene (just a few seconds), to fill the bottle at the fountain and avoid emptying it before arriving in Dogliani.

Wind totally absent and very few cars around, at least until Roreto. A lot of traffic in Moglia, probably due to a rally race. Arrived in Dogliani, stop to regain energy and eat a snack on the fly. The sun was striking hard, so during the climb was preferred to use a sunhat.

Lunch as every year in the central square of Murazzano, with a glass of red wine from the local Langhe's territory. Considering the heat, it was better to choose very light meals.

Up to Montezemolo many ups-and-downs, then downhill towards Millesimo with a wind so hot that it burns your eyes. At Altare, head under the fountain of fresh water. Final cycling stage towards Savona and then on the Aurelia route up to Noli. It was a long way to the destination ...
