Provonda - 2020

Cycling tour from Grugliasco to Borgata Tora. Sunny day with many cyclists on the roads. In Giaveno, the classic mushroom festival recurring every year in October.

Climbing from Monterossino, the slope is tough but still quite constant. There are also some sections where you can breath a little, but generally you can cycle quite well. A winding road and almost all in the woods.

In Borgata Tora there are no fountains nor picnic areas, just a couple of houses and restaurants. In the afternoon the weather got worse and the temperature dropped.

On the way back, my suggestion is to downhill towards Borgata Provonda. The road is in better condition on this side of the hill, but it's also very steep. If made in ascent, it's very very difficult to climb.

Total Length = 62.8 Km

Maximum Altitude = 986 m

Temperature (°C) = 13.0 - 16.7

Felt Temperature (°C) = 13.0 - 16.0

Timing =

  • Grugliasco-Giaveno: 1h

  • Break at Giaveno: 6m

  • Giaveno-Tetti Brandol: 4m

  • Tetti Brandol-Tora: 38m

  • Break at Tora: 24m

  • Return (by Provonda/Giaveno/Trana/Reano): 1h 9m (+4m break at Giaveno)
