Pavaglione - 2021

Writer's picture: Davide DimacDavide Dimac

Cycling tour from Grugliasco to Pavaglione. Sunny but quite cool day. Several people around and a little traffic, but not excessive.

Regular rhythm up to the beginning of Val di Susa cycle route in Avigliana. Sections in the shade quite cold. From Borgone onwards the road passes into the sunniest part of Val Susa and the temperature was higher.

In Chianocco and during the climb a strong sun raised the temperature a lot. In Pavaglione took fresh water and rested, with a good snack. The snow fallen in the previous days had reached those altitudes and was just above the village (see the photos).

Downhill with lots of clouds, so the temperature dropped drastically. On the way back, there was a deviation around San Diderio due to a manifestation that had blocked the area. The rest of the Val di Susa was done alternating clouds (cold) and sunshine (warm).

Total Length = 90.3 Km

Maximum Altitude = 1010 m

Temperature (°C) = 8.8 - 14.3

Felt Temperature (°C) = 9.0 - 15.0

Timing =

  • Grugliasco-Bruzolo: 1h 32m

  • Bruzolo-Pavaglione: 47m

  • Break at Pavaglione: 39m
