Cycling tour from Grugliasco to Novalesa. Very sunny morning, but also quite cold. Necessary to cover up well in layers. Constant speed on the outward trip, nobody on the roads and practically no traffic.
Followed a couple of cyclists up to Avigliana, then took the Val di Susa cycle route village after village. The temperature unfortunately didn't rise much, and the shady sections were quite cold. From Villar Focchiardo onwards, the road thankfully passed to the north side of the valley with more sunshine. In Susa nobody around and practically zero cars on the main state road. Fast climb in the first section, arriving to Venaus. Then the final section up to Novalesa, with a greater slope but not too difficult.
A couple of sandwiches as lunch in the picnic area at the beginning of Novalesa. Good water fountain nearby. Rested and walked around the village to take some photos. Everything closed and several families intent on finishing their lunch in the garden.
Temperature still quite cool, but the sun was warming up a bit. Dressed for the descent, returned to Susa and took the state road (totally desert) on the way back. Moderate headwind throughout the susa valley on the way back.
