Cycling tour from Grugliasco to Col del Lys, climbing from Lanzo. A day with perfect weather condition and temperature. No wind, bright sun and a slightly warm air along the route.
On the way to Lanzo, just very few cars around and many cyclists. Then turned towards Germagnano for starting the climb. The first part up to Viù is characterized by several flat sections and a very easy slope ascent.
Quick stop in Viù at the fountain near the church, to fill the bottle with fresh water and eat a snack. Then back on the road for the hardest part of the climb, towards the Colle S. Giovanni. All in the shade of the woods, so not suffering from the heat.
The final part of the tour up to Col del Lys is again quite simple, with some flat sections and several ups and downs ones. Useful for getting some energy back and drinking, pushing hard to reach the top quickly.
Once at Col del Lys, rested on the plateau and refreshed at the water fountain. Lunch with sandwiches in the large meadow that dominates the hill. The parking was full of sports cars, probably for an event of passionate.
After finishing lunch, a few photos of the view and nearby mountains. Then downhill to Almese and back to Rivoli.
