Col del Lys (by Almese) - 2021

Writer's picture: Davide DimacDavide Dimac

Cycling tour from Grugliasco to Col del Lys, climbing from Almese. A cloudless and very sunny day, with spring temperatures at lower altitudes and quite chilly on the peaks. A large number of cyclists met, especially during the climb from Almese onwards.

Always a long climb to be done at a constant cadence, without pushing too much in the first section. The sections in the woods were quite cold since always the shade.

The square at the top was practically empty. No cars or motorbikes, just lots of cyclists taking a break at the summit. Still several snowdrifts in the meadows along the edge of the parking square.

Cold downhill, with winter temperatures up to Almese. Then a bright sun, warming the ride on the way home.
